Tennessee State Museum Foundation

The Tennessee State Museum Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the activities and programs of the Tennessee State Museum. As the Museum prepares to move into a new stand-alone facility at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, the Foundation is raising much-needed funds to expand the Museum's popular Traveling Trunks Program to reach more students in more classrooms throughout the state. Focused on ten different trunk topics, the outreach program provides teachers with hands-on materials that connect students to Tennessee history and culture in a very real and engaging way. Filled with real and reproduction artifacts, portraits, paintings, books, music CDs, DVDs and more, trunks allow teachers to tap new and creative ways to teach social studies in their classroom.
